I can’t remember a time in my life when I’ve not been surrounded by animals. As a child and growing up, our family always had animals in the house. My first dog was a Border Collie called ‘Pal‘. My twin sister and I grew up with ‘Pal’ and were devastated when, at the age of 12, he went to Rainbow Bridge. After a few years we decided that it was time to introduce another dog into our family. We chose a West Highland White Terrier and called him ’Ben’. He is reason I fell in love with the breed. Our family were again devastated when, at the age of 15, he joined ‘Pal’ at Rainbow Bridge. Before, and in-between having the dogs we had couple of rabbits, a cat, a Budgie and several fish. So, I guess my destiny had already been decided. I knew that one day I would work with animals in some sort of capacity. My hubby (Jimmy) and I are now owned by 4 Westie Rascals and 1 tiny Yorkie, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Over the last 25 years I have successfully trained my dogs in obedience, and clicker training. They have also enjoyed agility and flyball. I then progressed to showing one of my Westies (Hopecharm Thomas the Terror) at Open Shows for a period of time. I attend Championship Dog Shows when I can, and keep up-to-date with the general grooming styles and changes. My love of grooming began several years ago when I began grooming my own, as well as, family and friends dogs. I am now a full-time professional dog groomer. It’s more of a way of life than a job, one I love with a passion, I wouldn’t want to do anything else.
